Ice skating was, in a word, fun. Which is something unusual for me; rarely is anything "fun." Maybe entertaining or enjoyable, but fun is a word I reserve for the most exciting, exuberating experiences in life. And today was one of them.
I made Alan drag me around the rink, holding his hand and praying that he would not hurl me into some other skaters or, more painfully, the wall. But he didn't. He successfully steered me around and through tight situations, although many times I lost my balance and nearly fell. But I never did. At one point, I was in the midst of falling and pulled on Alan to regain my balance when he decided to "help" me out a bit and caused us to twirl around, nearly sending both of us to the ground. In order to stabilize us, I ended up grabbing Alan's arm rather tightly, pinching his arm fat and probably leaving behind a bruise.
But, for all our near-catastrophes, I had a good time and enjoyed Alan's presence. Hopefully we'll go back together on a date or something, maybe with Taylor and Morgan, and I can work on my newfound skill of skating backwards!
