You're looking at Piedmont's first ever ASSISTANT DRUM MAJOR! I think I will greatly enjoy this position. I still get to march and hang out with all the band members, but I will have more authority than most other officers. And I won't be blamed for any tempo problems, either, since I'm not the drum major. I'm happy with my results, even though I didn't make head drum major. The only bad thing is that I'm under Matt Corum. God help me!
Second big accomplishment of the week was the Robotics Competition. I came in FIRST PLACE pretty much all by myself. Thanks to Molly for letting me borrow her computer at competition and to Medford and Jon for staying with me while I programed and tested for hours on end. I wouldn't have done it without you guys! (Mr. Medford made me keep the trophy. I wanted to leave it in his room so I can say "that's mine" but he wouldn't let me. "If it was a group effort, I'd keep it for the school, but since it was all you, you get to keep it." -Tradd)
Wednesday, i gave blood. The only scary thing was that the girl who sat in the same chair I did but before me, Kelli Whitley, passed out. I was fine though. I ate my three Oreo cookies and headed off to history.
Friday was VSA. My kid was cute, but I think he had a degenerative muscle disease because he had a neck brace on and got tired really easy. He was scared of the caterpillar crawl-though because of the winds it generated and he liked to go down the slide nice and slow. I ended up having to carry him back to his teacher when it was time to go home because he got so tired that he didn't feel like walking anymore. He was so sweet and held my hand almost the whole time. Maybe I'll get to see him again because I didn't get his picture. Brandon M. from Porter Ridge Pre-K was my buddy at the last VSA at Piedmont High School. I will surely miss him.
And... PROM IS SATURDAY!!!!
Mikal is supposed to be home this weekend. I can't wait to see her. She'll be going to prom with me, Alan, and Robin. Then, Robin and Mikal are going to spend the night. I hope we'll have lots of fun. We're riding in a Hummer to prom and eating at this French-ish restaurant called Santé beforehand. I'm pretty excited.
transcend.
